Selection committee has nominated 58 from 66 works of video that was sent by the organizing committee to film festivals video community. Eight works can not follow the selection of the initial stage, as has been far from the boundary passes the date of delivery of the paper. 

The committee accepted the paper came from Banjarnegara, Cilacap, Surakarta, Yogyakarta, Denpasar, Tabanan, Gianyar, Bajarmasin, Jakarta, Pretoria, Cirebon and Kochi. 

Committee nomination eventually choose 15 video entitled to the next stage of assessment, namely, the video community workshops, Judging, video playback and awards night Kawanusa 2008.

– Out of It!
is looking for a diverse opinions and perspectives in art production using community – based
working method that have been used in personal, groups and institutions in Yogyakarta.
HONF embrace interdisciplinary collaboration and values every discipline as an important factor
in the enrichment of limitless art production/learning process.

– Out of It! will consist of three main programs.
1. HONF will facilitate up to 4 international residency artists to collaborate with up to 2 local
artists and HONF artists. The program will be held in 25 November -10 December 2008,
before the main program of YIVF#04 – Out of It!
2. The main program for YIVF#04 will be held at 11-15 December 2008. HONF will facilitate the
collaborative working process between participants, residency artists and HONF members.
The projects, venues and times of the collaboration are dependable and decided by the
artists themselves. Artist will be given the chance to make cultural visits in Yogyakarta and
also a chance to give a presentation about themselves in an official public presentation of
. This main program is open for any artists who have interests in a collaborative
working process through community – based activities. A final public group presentation its’
forms, venues and modules in public spaces will be decided by the group itself and will be
held just before the closing ceremony of
– Out of It!
3. Post event residency will be opened for 4 international artists to explore the modern and
traditional culture of Yogyakarta. Post event residency also invites artists’ respond to the
public in a series of workshops with several schools, children and creative communities. The
self-directed residency will focus on relevant educative artistic activities. The residency
program will be held from 17 December 2008 up to 16 January 2009.

Media That Matters

More than a film festival

Media That Matters is the premier showcase for short films with big messages. Following a New York City Premiere, Awards Ceremony and industry networking events in June 2009, your film will take part in the Media That Matters international, multi-platform campaign with DVD distribution, broadcasts, streaming and hundreds of screenings across the globe!

Hundreds of thousands of people including educators, activists and nonprofits will watch and use your film. Submit your short film to make a real impact.

Short Films: Keep it short! Under 12 minutes is good, but under 8 is even better.

All Genres: Documentary, animation, PSA, narrative, music videos - be creative!

Social Issues: Any and all. This year we are looking for films on Media Literacy, Human Rights, Elections & Democracy, Sustainability, Sexual Identity—but all social issues are accepted. Youth produced projects are encouraged.

Cash Prize: $1,000 per film.

Submission Fee: $25 for general submissions; $10 for students over 18 (with valid student ID); free for youth 18 and under (with valid ID).

Deadline: All submission materials must be postmarked by January 9th, 2009.

Climate change caused by global warming have become major issues in the world. Indonesia is located on the equator, is the first country that will feel the impact of climate change. Even a few years ago, Indonesia started to feel the impact of global warming (global warming) is different from climate change and natural disasters that occur. Climate change has been felt in the community where the dry season to be more long-causing failed crops, water crisis and forest fires

Concern for the real action is realized with the cooperation between the SET Film Workshop, the Ministry of Environment, and DAAITV, through the competition of public service ads that this activity is given a name: global warming DAAI TV VIDEO AWARD. Activities that this is a small step can be a place for sensitivity youth, students, and students following the general concern for the increase in the threat of global warming danger in front of a real eye. Without the active role of awareness to save the earth, climate change will threaten the safety of natural and human.

About Global Warming Video Award:

Competition is a public service ads in the form of video / audio-visual (or non Animation Animation), which is open to the public, students, and students with the theme of Global Warming. Length of the ad is determined 60 seconds or 30 seconds. FIFA compete Ministry of the Environment, with a total of 30 million prize!

Indonesian Movie Awards (IMA) is an annual film award held by Indonesian private television station RCTI since 2007.
